This resource is designed to enable students to use their knowledge of holiday vocabulary and related grammatical structures to piece together five correct sentences in each section. The completed sentences will give them some models, often using tenses other than the present, to use in their own independent writing. The sentences are quite complex, and this may be an activity to complete in pairs. Students work from left to right, picking one word/phrase from each column each time to complete the sentence. I also attached a worksheet that will help your kids with the secret sentence and a worksheet for homework. My Year 7 groups simply loved them :)

Simple and fun. You just need a die and everything is ready. Move forward according to the number you get and conjugate the verb in brackets of each box, if you do not respond correctly, you lose a turn. The first person that reaches the end wins. I grew up calling these “cootie catchers” or “fortune-tellers,” but these little origami games are fun for Spanish vocab practice! Includes: 2 different “comecocos” versions student instructions explaining how to play student answer keys for checking their partner’s work instructions for YOU on how to fold these things! Vocabulary is pretty universal–but it’s specifically geared for Avancemos 1 Unit 3.1. I’ve included editable versions of documents included so that you can make modifications. I’d encourage you to give it a try! It’s a hit with students, and not nearly so hard as it looks to put together.
